Tribunal: Obi decided to go to court in order to justify the money he collected during campaign -Apapa group

The faction of the Labour Party led by Lamidi Apapa has accused Mr. Peter Obi, the party’s Presidential Candidate, of making a controversial move by taking the presidential election results to the tribunal for review.

In a report by Vanguard paper, Mr. Abayomi Arabambi, the National Publicity Secretary of the Lamidi Apapa faction, accused Peter Obi of attempting to defend the large sum of money he received during the presidential campaign by taking the matter to the tribunal. Arabambi alleged that the money obtained by Peter Obi was dishonestly diverted. He also expressed his disappointment that Peter Obi was unable to convince the tribunal about the alleged manipulation in specific voting locations.

In his words; “Peter Obi decided to go to the tribunal to justify all the money he collected during the campaign, all that money was corruptly syphoned. Its unfortunate that Obi failed to convince the Tribunal those polling units where he was rigged out.”

Arabambi went on to criticize Peter Obi’s legal team, claiming that they failed to offer adequate guidance before proceeding with the tribunal case. He accused Peter Obi of neglecting to involve the required polling unit agents to secure the support of the Labour Party’s voters. It is important to mention that the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal had already made its decision on the petitions filed by the Labour Party and Peter Obi, which contested Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s win as President.
