Tribunal Judgement: Reactions As PEPT Reveals Obi's Petition Against Tinubu Will Be Decided First

Nigerians across the world are patiently waiting for the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to decide the fate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, and the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

The election petition tribunal is expected to deliver judgement on the petitions filed by Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar against the election victory of President Tinubu.

Ahead of the tribunal judgement, the election petition tribunal had disclosed that it would first decide the petition that was filed by Peter Obi.

In the report which was made by Vanguard on Wednesday September 6, 2023, the tribunal disclosed that some of the arguments that were made during the hearing stage would be skipped, and that it would only concentrate on the concluding part of the judgement.

The announcement from the election tribunal has been trailed by mixed reactions from members of the public.

Below are some of the reactions from people:

Peter Obi is asking the election to nullify the election victory of President Tinubu, and part of his arguments is that Tinubu did not secure 25 percent votes in Abuja required by the Constitution to be declared president of Nigeria.

The debate on 25 percent votes in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has become a contentious issue since after Tinubu was declared the winner of the election, and Nigerians are waiting to see how the court will interpret this particular part of the Constitution.
