The editor of the Nations Capital Thursday newspaper, Iyobosa Uwagiaren has revealed that he was told that some roads in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of Nigeria, have been blocked by the military, and has had traffic flow restricted due to the verdict scheduled to be delivered today by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT), concerning the petitions filed against the outcome of the 2023 presidential election.

Iyobosa Uwagiaren said: “There was an election, and some people were aggrieved, and they went to court and presented their evidence before the court, and the court of appeal is expected to deliver judgement today, and those who are not satisfied can go to the Supreme Court. So, they still have an opportunity to express their grievances in the court of law. And the end of the day, the court would still give the final judgement.

“And my worry this morning, is the way the security agents are managing the whole thing. I’ve been told that [some roads in Abuja], the Yanyan road have been blocked by the military, the same thing in Kugbo [road], and the same thing Airport road. Why all these? And people this morning are spending over an hour because of the road block by the military or the Police”.
