Mason Mount will undergo medical tests on Monday and then he’s finally gonna sign five year deal as new Manchester United player.

Contract until June 2028 — it will also include an option to extend until June 2029.

Man Utd’s Amrabat plan

Manchester United are interested in signing Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat – the World Cup star Jurgen Klopp was after.

Amrabat, 26, was one of the standout players at last year’s tournament in Qatar, helping Morocco become the first African country to reach the semi-finals of a World Cup. He has just one year remaining on his contract and could be available for €30million (£26m).

Liverpool were heavily linked with Amrabat in December, as Klopp tried to solve his midfield crisis. It’s claimed the Reds boss even attended a meeting with the player’s representatives to persuade him to move to Merseyside, but a deal did not proceed.

Liverpool have since signed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai to bolster their midfield, giving United the chance to swoop for Amrabat. It’s claimed the Red Devils have already agreed personal terms with the midfielder, with only a transfer fee left to sort.

Brighton sign Verbruggen

Gerrard returns to management

Steven Gerrard has returned to management in Saudi Arabia after playing hardball with his new employers.

The former Rangers and Aston Villa boss has been announced as the new head coach of Al-Ettifaq – a matter of weeks after suggesting their contract offer wasn’t up to scratch.

Gerrard, sacked by Villa last year, was invited to the Middle East last month and held talks with club officials, but on his return to England insisted: “As we stand right now, I won’t be taking that offer up.”

But after holding further talks with officials of the side who finished seventh in the Saudi Pro League last term, Gerrard has now agreed to take on the role.

Barcelona identify Romeu as Busquets replacement

According to Diario Sport, Barcelona want Girona defensive midfielder Oriol Romeu to replace Sergio Busquets. Busquets has been an ever-present figure in the Blaugrana’s midfield, but is now heading to MLS side Inter Miami, leaving a void to fill in the midfield. Now, it seems that Barcelona have now turned to another La Masia graduate in former Southampton and Chelsea enforcer Romeu.
