5. Dieudonné Dieumerci

Dieudonné Dieumerci Mbokani Bezua is a striker for Kuwait SC in the Kuwait Premier League and is originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

4. Didier Drogba

Former striker with Phoenix Rising and the national team of Ivory Coast, Didier Drogba Tébily is an Ivorian soccer legend. During his time with Chelsea, he scored more goals than any other foreign player and is currently the club’s fourth all-time scorer.

Drogba was voted onto Chelsea’s “Team of the Decade” by the club’s faithful for the years 2010-2020. Twice, in 2006 and 2009, he was crowned the best footballer in Africa. With 369 goals in 795 games, Drogba is Africa’s fourth all-time leading scorer.

3. Chitalu Godfrey

In professional soccer, Godfrey Chitalu played as a forward for the Kabwe Warriors and the Zambia national team. After breaking the national record for goals scored and being awarded Zambian Player of the Year a record five times, he is widely considered to be the best player in Zambian history. Fifteen years ago, he was recognized as one of the top 200 African players of the preceding 50 years by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). With 393 goals in 598 matches, Chitalu is the third-most prolific African striker of all time.

2. Samuel Eto’o

Samuel Eto’o Fils is a retired Cameroonian striker who previously played for Real Madrid as well as the Cameroon senior team. Among the greatest African players of all time, he was a four-time winner of the African Player award.

Eto’o competed for the Cameroonian national team that won the Olympic gold medal in 2002. In addition, he was victorious in the 2000 and 2002 Africa Cup of Nations. Eto’o has represented his country in 8 major tournaments, including 4 World Cups and 6 Afcon tournaments.

Roger Milla, a retired Cameroonian forward, played for Monaco and the national team. At 38, he became the oldest FIFA World Cup scorer by scoring four goals in 1990. Cameroon is the first African team to make the World Cup quarterfinals owing to him.

Milla broke his record for oldest World Cup scorer in 1994 when he scored against Russia at age 42. Pelé selected him to FIFA’s top 100 players 17 years ago. 14 years ago, the Confederation of African Football named Milla the best African player of the previous 50 years. He scored 479 goals in 811 games
