Todd Boehly prepares Bukayo Saka offer as Kylian Mbappe reveals transfer truth

Here is your Chelsea morning digest on Tuesday, October 18.

Boehly eyes Saka transfer

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is looking to hand Arsenal a devastating blow in the race to secure the future of Bukayo Saka. The 21-year-old has been thinly linked with an exit from the Emirates Stadium recently as he enters the final two years of his deal in north London.

According to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs on The Football Terrace, the Blues are willing to offer Saka a better contract than the one he’s set to sign with the Gunners. The report states that the Hale End graduate is expected to sign a £200,000-per-week contract with the north Londoners………Continue Reading

But, Boehly is keen to intercept talks and bring the England international to Stamford Bridge. However, it’s said that Arsenal view Saka as ‘untouchable’ so Chelsea could struggle to engineer a deal.

Mbappe reveals transfer truth

Kylian Mbappe has revealed that he had never asked to leave Paris Saint-Germain in the upcoming January transfer window. Following the French giants’ win with over Marseille, the 23-year-old downplayed speculation that he’s eyeing a move.

Speaking to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins, the Frenchman said: “I have never asked for a departure in January. That’s completely false.”

Singing from the same hymn sheet, PSG sporting director Luis Campos also denied claims that Mbappe asked to leave. Speaking to Canal+, he said: “I am here to clearly deny, he [Mbappé] did not speak to me or to my president about leaving in January. This question never came up and we never talked about it. There are rumours every day, and we can’t talk about them every day.”

Spurs under pressure to solve Kane future

Tottenham Hotspur have been told that selling Harry Kane for £88million in the upcoming summer transfer window would be good business. The 29-year-old has been heavily linked with an exit from the club as Chelsea and Bayern Munich look to bolster their respective frontlines.

Speaking to Football Insider, former Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson said: “I think £88million for a player with 12 months left on his contract would be good business.

“Regardless of who you are, that is a big transfer fee considering you are into the final year of your contract. That would be a pretty good deal for Spurs. Do not get me wrong though, Spurs have to exhaust every opportunity to tie him down to a new deal. He is invaluable and in many ways irreplaceable.

“There are few players in the world on his level. To replace him is almost impossible. They have to do everything they can to get him to sign a new deal. If he doesn’t sign one, £88million would be a great deal. Clubs allow players to leave on a free far too often.

“It really frustrates me when clubs don’t protect their assets. Knowing Spurs, I’m sure talks are already going on behind the scenes about Kane’s future. You do not leave something like that to the last minute.”
