No rift between Obasanjo and I— Olowu.

The Olowu of Owu kingdom in Abeokuta, Ogun state, Oba Saka Matemilola, on Friday said there is no rift between him and former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Obasanjo, the Balogun (Chief Warrior) of Owu kingdom has been absent from events organised by the kingdom, fueling rumour that the ex-president may not be happy with the emergence of Oba Matemilola as the 14th Olowu.

The new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje has vowed to hit the ground running.

This was as he vowed to ensure that the party emerges victorious in the November 11 governorship elections in Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa states.

He spoke during his acceptance speech at the party’s 12th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja.

Troops neutralise 36 terrorists, arrest 163 criminals.

The Defence Headquarters says the Armed Forces of Nigeria personnel neutralised 36 terrorists and apprehended 163 suspected criminals and gunmen across theatres of action in the recent two weeks.

Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, Director, Defence Media tions, stated this during the bi-weekly news briefing on Thursday in Abuja.

Police rescue 3 kidnap victims, arrest two suspects in Abia.

The Police in Abia State has rescued three kidnap victims identified as, Azubuike Okorie, Oluebube Nwafor and Ekene Ike, at a kidnap den in Umunneochi council area.

Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Abia State Command, SP Maureen Chinaka, who confirmed the incident, disclosed that two male suspects, Abubakar Tukur and Ibrahim Sandari,have been arrested in connection with the kidnap incident.
