A ministerial nominee, Bosun Tijani, has justified his nomination by President Bola Tinubu, clarifying that “I have no father or mother. I have no political godfather too. I appreciate being nominated on merit and the work that I have done.”

Tijani made this known while answering questions thrown at him by members of the Red Chamber during his ministerial screening on Saturday and monitored by our Correspondent.

In his remarks, Bosun appreciated President Bola Tinubu for nominating him to serve in a “crucial capacity”.

Rolling out his credentials, the nominee said his journey into public service was driven by a deep-rooted passion “for our great nation and an unyielding commitment to its progress”.

Ganduje chairs first APC NWC meeting Tuesday

The new National Chairman of All Progressives Congress, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, will on Tuesday meet members of the National Working Committee in what will be his first official assignment as the leader of the party.

The development came barely two days after the former governor of Kano State was ratified at the 12th National Executive Committee meeting of the ruling party at Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.

Aside from Ganduje, Spokesperson for the ninth Senate, Senator Ajibola Basiru, was also ratified as the new national secretary of the APC during Thursday’s NEC meeting.

In an exclusive interview with our correspondent, a party chieftain, who craved anonymity, explained that the 73-year-old Kano State politician would chair his first meeting at the national headquarters of the party on Tuesday.

Lagos ex-PS, Selem, clocks 90 today

One of Nigeria’s renowned educationists and former Permanent Secretary in Lagos State, Alhaji Shukrullah Selem, popularly known as Bob Selem, will celebrate his 90th birthday on Sunday (today).

This was announced in a press release jointly signed by his daughter, Alhaja Morenike Selem, and the President of Ansar-Ud-Deen High School Old Students Association, Tunjib Sherif, to celebrate the educator in Lagos.

Described as resolute, industrious, and determined, Selem was appointed as the Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Schools Management Board and was also a part of the free education of the former Lagos State governor, Lateef Jakande.

The statement read partly, “Born at Ita Akanni in Lagos on the 6th of August 1933 into an Ahmadiya family, his father was late Alfa Muhammed Olatunji Selem, an Ahmadiya cleric. His mother was the late Alhaja Ayisat Agbeke Titilola, daughter of the late Buraimo Aduloju Baruwa Louis of Brazilian Quarters of Lagos.

Ex- APC National Chairman In Trouble Over Illegal Sale Of Family Property In Nasarawa

The immediate past National Chairman of the ruling All Progressive Congress APC Senator Abdullahi Adamu is currently in trouble over illegal acquisition of a house property belonging to the family of former plateau state Chairman of the defaunt National Party of Nigeria, NPN, Alhaji Yahaya Sabo, for over 25 years without payment.

The House property had been sold the to state government which the government rented the flats to the Federal Radio Co-operation of Nigeria FRCN North Central zonal Office Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.

The family have threaten to to close the Radio Nigeria North Central Zonal office in Lafia if the former APC National Chairman continue to occupy the property in the state capital.
