Tinubu’s 45 ministers not enough – APC chieftain, Aliyu Audu

A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Aliyu Audu the 45 ministers appointed by President Bola Tinubu were not enough.

Audu stated this while speaking in an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Wednesday.

He said, “I don’t think 45 is even enough. I don’t think 48 is enough. We have a population of over 200 million. We are in crisis.”

According to Audu, Tinubu, as Lagos state governor, felt that the need to take governance closer to the people and demanded creation of more local governments.

But, when asked his preferred figure, Audu, a member of the Media Strategy Subcommittee, APC Presidential Transition Council said, “I’m not putting any number to it.”

He further stated, “A lot of people thought he was taking it too far but look at how Lagos has moved in 24 years and how every other state has moved in 24 years.

President Bola Tinubu has felicitated with His Eminence, Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, and the Sokoto Sultanate Council, as the revered royal father and Spiritual Leader of Muslims in Nigeria turns 67 on August 24, 2023.

The President in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale said he shared in the moment of joy and thanksgiving with the leader of the Qadiriyya Sufi Order, who also serves as Head of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (Society for the Support of Islam) and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs.

According to the statement, “President Tinubu acknowledged the sacrifices and selflessness of the Sultan of Sokoto, who has, since his assumption of office in November 2006, worked assiduously for the sustenance of peaceful co-existence in the country, and beyond, personally traveling, intervening, mediating, and chairing meetings on the need for harmony.

“The President extols Sultan’s magnanimity, friendliness, and neighbourly outlook on life, seizing every opportunity to educate citizens on the benefits of amity in the society, while providing platforms for solidifying Nigeria’s unity, such as instituting the Peace Accord for elections as a member of the National Peace Committee.

North East youth group commends Tinubu’s dedication to fix Nigeria

Nigeria’s President, Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been commended for his tremendous effort, dedication, and commitment to fixing Nigeria within a short period of time.

The commendation was made by the North East Youths Discussion Cycle in a statement signed by the Chairman of the group, Prince Mohammed Sani Hassan, copies of which were made available to Journalists in Bauchi.

The group stated, “We are very sure he will move Nigeria to the next level of development without rancour or discrimination.”

FG pledges immediate intervention of Federal roads in Kogi

The Minister of Works, Engineer Dave Umahi, and Kogi State governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello have inspected major Federal government road infrastructures across the state.

The Minister, while addressing the Press at a session of the Ganaja federal road axis, stressed that the federal government, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was determined to improve greatly on the issue of road networks across the nation. The Minister revealed plans for long-lasting, low-maintenance concrete roads and assured swift attention on all federal road projects in Kogi State.

Senator Dave Umahi commended Governor Yahaya Bello’s commitment to the people of Kogi State and Nigeria at large and also his administration’s accomplishments in sectors like education, healthcare, and infrastructure.

The Minister expressed gratitude for the Governor’s warm reception upon his appointment as Minister of Works and for his dedication to the betterment of Kogi State.

He disclosed further that the federal government is considering concrete road construction, an innovation which he said is low maintenance cost and can last for over 50 years without turn-on maintenance.

He also alluded that concrete roads are lower in cost in terms of construction cost and the availability of construction materials.

The works Minister promised to redesign the Lokoja-Ganaja-Ajaokuta road with new features that would enhance its sustainability considering the yearly flooding incidence while assuring the Kogi state and, by extension, Nigerians that under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the road network was billed to improve greatly.

Kogi state governor Yahaya Bello, in his own remarks, expressed confidence regarding the Federal Government’s commitment to enhancing the country’s road infrastructure.

He similarly expressed deep appreciation for the Minister’s proactive approach in inspecting deteriorating federal roads within the state, which he opined has demonstrated a significant dedication to resolving pressing infrastructure issues.
