Tinubu Hailed Over New NDDC Chair, MD’s Appointments

Stakeholders in the Niger Delta have hailed President Bola Tinubu for the appointment of Chiedu Ebie as the new Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) board and for retaining Samuel Ogbuku as the Managing Director.

Speaking on the appointment, a traditional ruler and Chairman of Bayelsa Traditional Rulers Council, HRM Bubaraye Dakolo said he was happy that President Tinubu appointed a substantive board on time, unlike previous governments who put in place interim administrations.

MINISTER of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Mr Nyesom Wike, yesterday, bragged that he is yet to see the party chieftain, who will suspend him from the party. Speaking in an interview on Channels Television, Wike also said governance is not about membership of a political party.

Asked whether it was right for him to take an appointment in an APC-led government, the former governor of Rivers State said he became the FCT Minister to support President Bola Tinubu’s administration and not as a member of a political party.

His words: “Governance is not about party. Party is a vehicle that conveys you. I’m a PDP member — unrepentant.

The governorship candidate of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) in Kano State in the March 2023 general elections, Salihu Tanko Yakasai, has rejoined his former party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Yakasai, popularly known as ‘Dawisu’ confirmed to Daily Trust about the development after he made the announcement in a social media post on his official Facebook page.
