"Why I Will Not Celebrate My 62nd Birthday On Wednesday" – Labour Party's Peter Obi Explains

The former governor of Anambra state, Mr. Peter Gregory Obi of the Labour Party (LP), took to his verified twitter handle today to make an explanation as to why he will not celebrate his 62nd birthday which ought to come up on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.

Peter Gregory Obi, who lost to Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the last presidential election, said, “the reason why I will not celebrate my 62nd birthday on Wednesday is because it will not benefit Nigerians in any way. For the past twenty years, I have never celebrated it because of Nigeria’s deplorable state.” He added, “I think what will benefit Nigerians is a new Nigeria that works for everyone.”

Speaking further, the former governor of Anambra state said, “I am humbly appealing to everyone that want to celebrate me this year to visit homes of the aged, hospitals, orphanages, homes of people with disabilities, and offer them such generous gifts.”

In addition, Peter Gregory Obi said, “this year, some of my friends, members of the OBIdient family and labour party supporters intend to celebrate me but I want them to extend those gifts to poor people around them.”

Lastly, Mr. Peter Gregory Obi said, “I have already said that the sacrifices for a better Nigeria must start from us, the leaders and the well-placed.”
