Senate Screens 46 Of 48 Ministerial Nominees; Postpones Keyamo, Mahmoud Screening

The Senate yesterday entered the fifth day of the screening of the ministerial nominees forwarded to it by President Bola Tinubu for screening and subsequent confirmation. The Senate commenced the screening exercise with Lola Ade-John, the ministerial nominee from Lagos State after its almost two hours closed-door meeting.

The Screening which started 3 pm, came to an end at 7.19 pm, just as in between the process, the Senate went on break at 5.05 pm and returned at 5.45 pm.

President Tinubu had earlier sent a list of 28 ministerial nominees followed by a supplementary list of 19 nominees last Wednesday to the Senate for screening.

We Didn’t Visit Tinubu To Promote Any Candidate- Okun Leaders

The President of Okun Development Association (ODA), Femi Mokikan, has cleared the air on the recent visit of some Okun leaders to President Bola Tinubu in Abuja.

 ODA is the umbrella socio-cultural group of the Yoruba-speaking people of Kogi State.

 In a statement issued at the weekend by the President of ODA, he said he was fully involved in the visit to the President on Thursday.

Rivers Gov Absent As Atiku, PDP Govs, Stakeholders Meet In Abuja

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, was again absent on Saturday when Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party and leaders of the party including former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, met in Abuja to deliberate on the fate of the party.

At the meeting, the PDP leaders renewed their commitment to discipline in the interest of the party.

Although no reason was given for Governor Fubara’s absence, a party source said the Rivers helmsman is still playing the loyalty card, having been advised by his predecessor, Nyesom Wike not to shoulder the party’s financial responsibilities.

Okumagba Congratultes Keyamo On Ministerial Nomination

Former Delta State Commissioner for Finance and prominent Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State, Olorogun Bernard Okumagba, has congratulated Olorogun Barrister Festus Keyamo (SAN) on his nomination as Minister by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR).

Olorogun Okumagba, in a press statement, said the nomination of Barrister Keyamo as Minister in the cabinet of President Tinubu was well deserved, given his pedigree as a technocrat and one of the committed Leaders in the APC.
