A former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has blasted Mr Peter Obi for rejecting the presidential election tribunal judgement.

Wike said that Obi should tell the whole world if he paid a bribe to reclaim his mandate at the court when he was removed as governor of Anambra State.

The former Rivers chief executive spoke on Channels TV after the Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate rejected the ruling of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal that upheld the victory of Bola Tinubu.

Both Peter Obi and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s standard bearer, Atiku Abubakar, have rejected the court judgment and have announced their decision to further seek justice at the Supreme Court.

PAN Niger Delta Elders Forum, PANDEF, has opined that the legal representatives of the candidates of the Labour Party, Peter Obi and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, did not do a good job in the presidential election matter they handled.

National Publicity Secretary of PANDEF, Ken Robinson, stated that the lapses in the presentations by the counsel for LP and PDP were regrettable, adding that the lawyers did not do due diligence on the matter.

Robinson said that they followed the extensive judgment that lasted for about 11 hours and it was elaborate. The justices of Court of Appeal made exclusive explanations and detailed ruling on the matter.

He further said that an ordinary man who is not a lawyer seems to be sound and the statements that the judges made were explicit that even the ordinary man will understand that the petitioners did not do a good job.

The Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has urged the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, and that of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, to concede defeat and save themselves the resources and trouble of approaching the Supreme Court.

Both candidates have since announced their decisions to challenge Wednesday’s judgement of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal upholding the victory of President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the February 25 vote.

However, Bello told State House Correspondents in Abuja on Thursday that Atiku and Obi are better off moving on and supporting the Tinubu administration.

According to Bello, Nigerians within the country and in the diaspora are happy with the verdict as are members of the APC.
