It’s time to forgive, move on — Adeleke tells Osun PDP members

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has urged party members in the state to forgive those who worked against the party and concentrate on delivering good governance.

This is as he said he will work as much as he dances, saying his dancing is his way of praising God for the grace of his life.

Speaking after a closed-door meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, stakeholders to nominate a replacement for the late Zonal Vice Chairman of the party, Soji Adagunodo, the Governor said the party must embrace those returning to the fold and build the party for future victory.

He added that even as a governor, he believes in party supremacy and would ensure party discipline in all activities, including the appointment of caretaker committee members into the local government administration in the state.

GOVERNOR Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, Wednesday, reiterated the commitment of his administration to promoting inclusive economic growth.

Oborevwori stated this when he received on courtesy visit, the 59th President and Chairman, Governing Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN, Dr Innocent Okwuosa at Government House, Asaba.

Represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, the Governor said the State Government

was strengthening financial management for sustainable development.

He said the State would continue to partner with the body for improved services in revenue generation and service delivery.

Ronaldo penalty goal powers Al-Nassr to Arab Club Champions Cup final

Cristiano Ronaldo has reached his first final for Al-Nassr after scoring from the penalty spot in a 1-0 win over Al-Shorta of Iraq.

The 38-year-old Portuguese forward scored a 75th-minute penalty after Sadio Mane was brought down in the box.

Ronaldo will play in his first final since moving to the club in January.

The goal was his fourth in successive games in the competition as his side prepares for the new Saudi Pro League season, which starts on Friday.

Al-Nassr will face another Saudi opponent, Al-Hilal or Al-Shabab, in the final on Saturday.

SEMA rescues 30-yr-old man from suicide in Damaturu over economic hardship

The Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (YOSEMA) on Wednesday rescued and saved a 30-years old man (name withheld) in Damaturu, the state capital from an Attempted suicide.

According to eyewitnesses, the survivor is a resident of Hon. Mai Mala Housing Estate Along Gashua Road Damaturu, Yobe State who out of frustration and the economic hardship faced as a result of fuel subsidy removal attempted to take his own life by consuming rat poison.

Alerted by the incident, the men of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) deployed to the scene and rushed the man to the hospital where Doctors administered antidotes, got him treated and counselled the victim.

It was gathered that the message reached SEMA through the local Vigilante group of the Area who were alerted by the survivor’s mother.

As of the point of this report, the survivor is responding to treatment.

The state government also through SEMA has assisted the family with foodstuff to cushion the effects and hardships.

Confirming the report, the Executive Secretary of the YOSEMA, Dr. Mohammed Goje described the incident as unfortunate.
