I’ll Hit The Ground Running As APC Chairman – Ganduje

The new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, says he will hit the ground running to ensure the victory of the ruling party in the November 11, 2023 governorship polls in Imo, Kogi and Bayelsa.

Ganduje spoke on Thursday during his acceptance speech as the party’s chair after his emergence at the 12th APC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton in Abuja. The party’s NEC also elected former Senate spokesman, Ajibola Basiru, from Osun State as its National Secretary.

Shettima, Alia meet over security, agriculture in Benue

Vice President Kashim Shettima and the Benue State governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia on Thursday met at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on how to improve the security as well as agriculture in Benue.

The governor disclosed this to State House correspondents after meeting behind closed doors with the Vice President.

Members of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, MACBAN, have asked President Bola Tinubu not to forget them in the ongoing appointments, saying they were even prepared to work as sweepers in Aso Rock, the seat of Federal Government.

The Southeast zonal leader of MACBAN, Alhaji Gidado Siddikki, said the call became necessary because cattle breeders across the country prayed and voted for the President during the February 25 presidential election.

NLC in emergency meeting over suspension of strike action

The Nigeria Labour Congress is in an emergency National Executive Council meeting over the suspension of their strike action.

A reliable source at the ongoing meeting in Abuja disclosed this to DAILY POST on Thursday morning.

According to him, leaders of the Union are already discussing the possibility of suspending the strike owing to the meeting it had with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday.
