I’ll Be Biased If I Ask You Any Question—Akpabio

Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, on Friday, jocularly told ex-Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, that he would be biased if he asked the ministerial nominee any question during ministerial screening.

A two-term governor of Plateau, Lalong was the Director General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council during the 2023 general elections.

Lalong was one of the nine former governors that made the 48-man ministerial list of President Bola Tinubu which was submitted to the red chamber for screening.

We’ll Fight Insecurity–Odunzeh

The gubernatorial candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, in Imo State, Mr. Ben Odunzeh has vowed to tackle insecurity and uphold the rule of law if he emerges winner.

Odunzeh also reiterated his preparedness to make sure that there is implementation of a transparent and accountable electoral system, before, during and after the election.

He made this known through a statement signed by his media officer, Mr Joshua Elekwachi, shortly after a meeting with stakeholders and youth organizations in the State.

According to him: “In recent times, Imo State has faced its share of electoral challenges, leading to concerns over the integrity of the electoral process. Our focus remains steadfast on the welfare of the people and the protection of their democratic rights.”.

Female teacher faces 600 years in prison after sexually assaulting 14-yr-old boy

A 74-year-old former teacher faces 600 hundred years in prison after she repeatedly sexually abused a teenage boy at a private school in Wisconsin.

Anne N. Nelson-Koch was convicted on 25 counts linked to the attacks which took place in the 2016-2017 school year.

It was reported that She would take the boy down the unnamed school’s basement to abuse him. Nelson-Koch was 67 at the time and the boy was 14.

The former teacher was convicted at Monroe County Court after a jury deliberated for five hours.

Prosecutors asked that Nelson-Koch be immediately remanded in custody ahead of sentencing on October 27. Judge Richard Radcliffe instead granted bail with a GPS monitor ahead of the hearing.

Amotekun arrests cultist, burglar in Osun

A suspected cultist and a burglar have been arrested by the Amotekun Corps in Osun State.

The duo were arrested separately in Ila-Orangun and Osogbo on Thursday.

The Commander of the Corps, Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi made this known in a statement on Friday.
