Atiku’s Hope Of Becoming President Still Bright – Sowunmi

A former Spokesman of the Atiku Campaign Organisation and gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections in Ogun State, Otunba Segun Sowunmi, has held that the hope of his party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, of becoming president is still bright.

He said that the issue of who won the last presidential poll is yet to be over until the Supreme Court gives its final verdict on the matter.

Sowunmi stated this at a virtual interactive session with the members of the League of Yoruba Media Practitioners (LYMP), a group of media professionals, who ply their trade in the Yoruba indigenous language.

According to the former spokesman of the Abubakar Atiku 2019 Presidential Campaign, PDP presidential candidate, Atiku has overwhelming evidence to back up his petition before the Presidential Election Petition Court (PREPEC) and his chances of winning is bright.

Tinubu Departs Lagos For Abuja

President Bola Tinubu has departed Lagos for Abuja, after spending five days of Sallah holidays in the state.

President Tinubu departed the presidential wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, on Sunday, in the company of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos.

Before his departure, the President took the salute of the Nigeria Army parade.

During his five days stay in Lagos, President Tinubu paid a courtesy visit to the paramount rulers of Ijebuland, Egbaland, and the Akiolu of Lagos.

President Tinubu also played host to the President of Guinea Bissau and Chairman, Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government, Umaro Sissoco Embalo in his Lagos residence on Saturday.

Anambra Gov’t To Install Device To Check Absenteeism

Anambra State Government says it has commenced the installation of clock-in devices in public health facilities to curb absenteeism and ensure that health workers take their duties seriously.

The state’s Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Obidike, disclosed this on Saturday in Awka during a meeting with public hospital administrators in the state.

He said during his unannounced visits to some of the state hospitals, many health workers were absent, while some health facilities were locked up.

PDP Rep: 10th NASS Won’t Be Mere Rubber Stamp

Malam Abubakar Buba, a member of the House of Representatives, has said that the 10th National Assembly “won’t be a mere rubber stamp to the executive arm of government”.

Buba, a PDP legislator, who represents Chachanga Federal Constituency in Niger, hinted that the opposition lawmakers would challenge the policies of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) government.

He spoke in an interview with newsmen on Saturday in Minna.
