APC poised to retain Kogi gov seat – Ganduje

As the Kogi State governorship election draws closer, the national chairman of All Progressive Congress, Dr. Umar Ganduje, has assured that the party is working on modalities to retain the state.

Ganduje gave the assurance on Saturday while addressing newsmen in Sokoto.

He said the party is doing everything humanly possible to retain the state.

“You are aware that Kogi is part of progressive and we have been winning the state before now, so winning the state will not in anyway difficult for us.

“The governor is in charge in the state and I know with him and his achievement in office so far, we are good to go,” he said.

Talking about the achievements recorded by the Sokoto State governor, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, in his first 100 days of assumption of office, the chairman described them as unprecedented.

According to him, “I came and saw the achievements recorded so far by Governor Ahmed Aliyu, and I am fully impressed with what I saw so far.

‘I’ve resumed back to work’ – Gov Abiodun

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has announced that he had resumed work after a trip to India with President Bola Tinubu.

Abiodun announced his resumption in a post on his verified X account on Saturday.

According to him, his administration would soon start the construction of some bad roads across the 20 local governments in the Gateway State.

This, Abiodun said, was in fulfilment of his promise that there would be improved standard of living for Ogun residents.

He stated: “Having resumed back to work after an eventful and short investment driven trip to New Delhi in India, we would like to inform the good people of the Gateway State that our administration will soon kick off the reconstruction of some identified deplorable roads across the Twenty – 20 Local Government Areas in the state.

Minister Sets Up Task Force On Relocation Of Airlines To New MMIA Terminal

The Minister of Ation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo has set up a task force to resolve the challenges facing the relocation of commercial airlines to the new terminal within the shortest possible period.

According to a statement released by the Head Press and Public Affairs in the Ministry, Oluseyi Odutayo on Saturday, the Minister is concerned about “the teething problems of relocating the international airlines to the new Terminal which was necessitated by the recent fire outbreak at the Old International Terminal in Lagos.”

The members of the task force are Engineer Hassan Musa, (Retired PS and ex-Dir of Dept. of Air Transport Management (Team Leader); Adebayo Oladipo General Manager Aerodrome NCAA; Mr. Collins Mukoro (SA to the Minister of Ation and Aerospace Development, Mrs. Uyoyou Edhekpo (SA to the Minister of Ation and Aerospace Development and Mr. Henry Agbebire (SA to the Minister of Ation and Aerospace Development.

Recall that during the Minister’s inspection of the Lagos Airport on Thursday 31st August 2023, he had given a deadline of October 1, 2023, for the relocation.

Adeleke approves N160m severance package for 6th, 7th Assembly members

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has approved the sum N160 million as severance gratuity for members of the 6th and 7th Assembly in the state.

In a statement made available to Vanguard on Saturday by spokesperson to the Speaker, Tiamiyu Olamide, he said the Speaker, Hon. Adewale Egbedun described the action of the State Governor as unprecedented, commending the Governor for his magnanimity, generosity and kindness which he described as unparalleled.

“The Clerk to the Osun State House of Assembly, Mr Akinwale Amusan has since disbursed the severance gratuities which is about One Hundred and Sixty Million Naira (N160,000,000) to all the beneficiaries, numbering fifty-two former Honourable Members.

“The action of the Governor depicts a true leader and genuine statesmanship. May Almighty God continue to strengthen him with good health, wisdom and sound mind to be able to continue offering the State real dividends of Democracy and good governance for the betterment of the people of the State”, he added.
