We Have A Duty To Meet Expectations Of Nigerians, Tinubu Charges New Ministers

In a call to action, President Bola Tinubu has urged the recently appointed ministers to collaborate with him and each other to fulfill the aspirations of the Nigerian people through their work in government.

He gave the charge during the inauguration of the 45 confirmed ministers-designate on Monday held at the Conference Centre of the State House, Abuja.

“We are in this boat, even if it is a vehicle and I am the driver, the entire Nigerians are behind sitting and watching as you and I navigate this vehicle. We must hold each other responsible, we have to do the job to meet the expectations of all Nigerians.

“As I said earlier on, you are not a minister of a particular state, colony, region or ethnic nationality, you are a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” President Tinubu said.

Keyamo sworn in as works, ation minister

David Umahi (Ebonyi) and Festus Keyamo (Delta), have been sworn-in as the Minister of Works and Minsister of Ation and Aersospace Development respectively.

The oath of office was administered by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola.

After their oath of office, they shook hands with President Bola Tinubu.

The inauguration of the 45 confirmed ministers-designate is currently holding at the Conference Centre of the State House, Abuja.

The ministers-designate were being sworn-in according to their respective state of origin.

Stop Wike, Oyetola, Umahi, others’ life pensions, SERAP tells Tinubu

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, has urged President Bola Tinubu to ensure the stoppage of further collection of life pensions and other allowances of former governors who are serving as ministers in his administration from the states while they serve as ministers.

SERAP, also urged the President to instruct the former governors to immediately return any pension and allowances that they may have collected since leaving office to the public treasury.

The affected former governors, who are now ministers in the Tinubu administration, include: Badaru Abubakar, Nyesom Wike, Bello Matawalle, Adegboyega Oyetola, David Umahi, Simon Lalong, Atiku Bagudu and Ibrahim Geidam.
