The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign has described the report of the European Union Election Monitoring Group on the 2023 general elections which concluded that the last election was fraught with irregularities and failed to meet the minimum standard of credibility, as credible.

Mr. Phrank Shaibu, Special Assistant on Public Communications to the PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, said this in a statement, in Abuja, late on Sunday.

He took a swipe at the Spokesperson for President Bola Tinubu for trying to discredit the EU’s report.

Shaibu noted that “even the dead” knew that the last election lacked credibility and even the Independent National Electoral Commission had been unable to explain why nearly five months after the election, it had refused to upload the full result on its result viewing portal.

He said, “Even primary school children who did not vote know that INEC failed woefully and that Tinubu rigged the last election.

“The Presidential election held on February 25, 2023 and yet as of July 2, 2023, the result of the Presidential election has not been fully uploaded. This is despite the fact that this election was the most expensive in the history of West Africa.

According to Dati, “To be the director general of a campaign organisation, especially a presidential campaign council, is no mean feat, as it requires all the tact, resourcefulness, wisdom and political wizardry to get the job done.

“To be sure, the DG is the live wire of any campaign. Apart from coordinating activities to facilitate the victory of the principal, the DG identifies likely threats and works out ways to take care of such immediately.”

He also said the DG personifies the campaign such that his aura -either positive or negative- rubs off on the campaign.

“In the build up to the last presidential elections in Nigeria, the immediate past governor of Plateau State, Simon Bako Lalong, was the face of the campaign and his aura turned things around for good for the APC presidential campaigns.

Those Commending Tinubu Are Hypocrites_ Cleric

Senior pastor of Awaiting The Second Coming Of Christ Ministries, Adewale Giwa, has described those commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as hypocrites.

Speaking in Akure, while addressing his members, Giwa, said only the enemies of Nigeria would hail President Tinubu at present.

He said,” Those praising the president are gullible enough to believe that selling a litre of petrol at N550 is good for the country where people are surviving without jobs.

“You cannot put something on nothing and expect it to stay there. Where are the refineries that are functioning in Nigeria?

“How many of us can boast that we have jobs that can help us confront these challenges that we face in Nigeria? It is senseless to remove fuel subsidy without alternatives.

Tinubu Rejects EU Report On 2023 General Elections

President Bola Tinubu, Sunday said he has rejected the report by the European Unions Electoral Observer Mission on the 2023 general elections, describing the final report as a product of a poorly done desk job that relied heavily on few persons.

The president said that he has many reasons to believe the “jaundiced report”, based on the views of fewer than 50 observers, “was to merely sustain the same premature denunciatory stance contained in EU’s preliminary report released in March.”

This was contained in a statement issued by Mr. Dele Alake, Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties, Communications and Strategy, with the title, “We reject European Union’s conclusions on 2023 general elections.”

The President in the statement noted that some notable bodies like the Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, and even the electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, have commended the conduct and outcome of the election.
