To be honest, making Ganduje National Chairman of APC is the 1st disturbing signal- Lukman to Tinubu

According to a news that was published by The Nigerian Tribune paper Online this afternoon, it was reported that the former national vice-chairman, North-West geopolitical zone of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Salihu Lukman, has raised concern over what he called disturbing signals in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, and his influence on All Progressives Congress’ matters.

It was reported that in the open letter that was addressed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which was entitled, “Disturbing Signals: Open Letter to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” the former member of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) declared that the emergence of the former Kano state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, as National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, was a startling revelation that the present administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu has no commitment to prosecute the anti-graft war.

Salihu Lukman also argued that, the nomination of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, incidentally from North-West zone to replace the former national chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, from Nasarawa state in the North-Central zone as the chairman was a breach of Article 31.5(i) of the All Progressives Congress’ Constitution.

While he was talking, he said, “To be honest, making Doctor Ganduje, National Chairman of APC is the first disturbing signal, as many party members are yet to recover from that shock. With all the uncleared corruption allegation against the new National Chairman, you opted to nominate him to become the National Chairman of the party.”

He said Tinubu nominated Ganduje even when Article 31.5(i) of the constitution of party clearly gave Nasarawa State Executive Committee, the power to nominate who should replace Senator Abdullahi Adamu as the party’s chairman.
