Tinubu's administration inherited a terrible economic situation- Oshiomhole

Adams Oshiomhole, a senator from Edo North, claims that President Bola Tinubu’s administration inherited a terrible economic situation.

Oshiomhole made this statement in a media interview that he gave shortly after he and the vice president, Senator Kashim Shettima, held a secret meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

According to the former National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), some of the measures made by the current administration are the first step toward reviving the economy.

He continued by praising President Tinubu and his deputy for their courage and tenacity in working to end the corruption in the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the subsidy regime while pleading with Nigerians to exercise patience.

Oshiomhole, in the meantime, has expressed optimism in the speedy resolution of disputes between the Federal Government and organized labor resulting from the removal of gasoline subsidies.

According to him, Tinubu is resolved to act right away to mitigate the effects the removal of gasoline subsidies is having on Nigerians. He acknowledges the impact it is having.

In his words, “This president knows that the effect of the withdrawal is already here, people are already experiencing some level of suffering, and thus there needs to be an immediate response to it.
