Tinubu: Put every minister on probation, nobody should assume they would be there forever-Baba-Ahmed

After President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assigned portfolios to his minister-designates ahead of their swearing on Monday, the Director, Publicity and Advocacy, Northern Elders Forum, (NEF), Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed has urged the President to put all his ministers on probation and not allow them assume they would be there forever. Dr Baba-Ahmed who said this on Silverbird TV also advised the president to show to his ministers that he is leading by example.

He said, “All that he is left to do is to give them templates that is consistent with the vision of what you want your government to do. Lead by example. You don’t want corrupt people, don’t be corrupt. You don’t want people to be indifferent, don’t be indifferent. You want people to be accountable in their ministries, be accountable. And basically run a clean government.

If your ministers know you are clean, they will be clean I assure you. So everything depends on the president, it depends on what he wants. But most importantly, put everybody on probation. No minister should assume that he or she would be there forever.”
