Tinubu, Nigerians Cannot Continue To Suffer While Those In Public Office Enjoy Themselves–Oluseun Onigbinde

Mr. Oluseun Onigbinde, an open data analyst and a fiscal transparency advocate reacting to President Tinubu plan to appoint thirty-six minister, alleged that Nigerians cannot continue to suffer while those in public office enjoy themselves. This was disclosed by Vanguard newspaper on their verified Twitter account. Oluseun stated that ministers and heads of agencies always get new cars, but the masses are left to suffer

Recall that President Bola Tinubu had revealed that he will appoint thirty-six Minister in his administration and he also revealed his plan to pay eight thousand Naira to twelve million families in Nigeria for six months to assist them cop with the hike in petrol price.

According to a report by Vanguard newspaper, Oluseun alleged that the lifestyle of public officers, especially politicians are expensive, and they can be seen moving in large convoy went that money can be used to better the lives of the masses. However, Oluseun strongly believes that for a better Nigeria, President Tinubu should cut down the cost of public officers, especially politicians who enjoy themselves while in office rather than focusing on elevating the lives of Nigerians.

He said: “In cost of governance, I think about it in three ways; first, the lifestyle of public officials. You see a lot of our political office-holders move in long convoys of cars, travelling, buying things with unreasonable amounts. Every time, we buy brand-new cars for Ministers and heads of agencies. People want to sit down and say“ you cannot have people struggling, passing through hard times, and you have those in public offices lounging or enjoying themselves”. Also, the agencies and ministries that draw funds from the public treasury, how many are they?”

What are your thoughts on this matter?
