Tinubu Meets With Acting EFCC Chairman, Chukkol At Aso Villa

At the Aso Villa in Abuja on Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu met with Abdulkarim Chukkol, acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

On June 14, 2023, the President suspended Abdulrasheed Bawa as the head of the anti-graft agency for an extended period. The meeting on Wednesday took place around four weeks later.

Bawa was instructed to turn over control of his office’s business to the Director of tions in the Commission right away.

The Department of State Services (DSS) then detained Bawa and questioned him.

Chukkol, who was the Commission’s Director of tions, took over as interim chair of the EFCC right away.

Chukkol, a founding member of the Commission, is a skilled investigator with expertise in cybercrime and money laundering.
