Atiku Abubakar, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party, made this claim in a statement released by his media aide on Sunday. It is worth noting that Atiku Abubakar lost the presidential election to the All Progressives Congress candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Following the election, Atiku has formed a legal team to challenge the outcome, alleging that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) manipulated the results in favor of the APC candidate.

In response to recent developments, Atiku Abubakar expressed his concerns, stating, “It is unfortunate that Tinubu intends to reward former governor Nyesom Wike with a ministerial appointment, despite the accusations of rigging against him and the pending petition that has garnered nearly 300,000 votes.”

He further remarked, “The presidential election in Rivers State was clearly marred by rigging, as evident from the information uploaded on IREV by INEC. Over 300,000 Nigerians have signed a petition on change.org, calling for visa bans against Wike.”

The former Vice President concluded by saying, “Tinubu’s intention to appoint Wike as a minister as a reward for his involvement in that controversial election is disgraceful. What a shame! This is the same individual who claimed to have fought for the actualization of June 12?”
