Tinubu condemns Plateau killings, orders manhunt for masterminds

The recent killings in Plateau state have prompted President Bola Tinubu to ask the security services to find the killers.

Gunmen attacked the Sabon Gari hamlet in the state’ s Mangu LGA on Saturday, killing nine people and destroying six homes.

One of the leaders in the neighborhood, Jerry Datim, had said that there were individuals who had not been seen since the assault.

The attacks were unnecessary, according to Tinubu, according to a statement released on Tuesday by Dele Alake, the president’ s special assistant on special tasks, communications, and strategy.

” It is most unfortunate that in this orgy of violence, an innocent eight- month- old baby in Farin Lamba community of Vwang District, Jos south LG, died in a conflict she knew nothing about, ” he said.

” A major consequence of perennial conflict is always the tragic loss of innocent lives. To build virile, peaceful and prosperous communities demand tolerance and forgiveness for every perceived wrongdoing. “

In an effort to establish enduring peace, Tinubu urged traditional authorities, socio- cultural organizations, and community leaders to collaborate.

The president tasked emergency response organizations and the governments of the states of Plateau and Benue with aiding those who have been displaced as a result of the violence and provide prompt assistance.

According to PUNCH, Caleb Mutfwang, the governor of Plateau, placed a 24- hour curfew on the state’ s Mangu LGA as a result of recent attacks.

Additionally, Abdusalam Abubakar, the OPSH commander in Plateau, claims to have temporarily moved to the LGA.

According to Abubakar, the action will allow him to cooperate with the local government to improve the situation.
