Tinubu, Canadian PM Trudeau discuss Gabon coup on phone

The latest coup in Gabon that toppled President Ali Bongo was the focus of a telephone conversation between President Bola Tinubu and the Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau.

Daily post report that, The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, informed journalists about the telephone conversation on Wednesday in Abuja.

He said the two leaders’ discussion centred on the need for the promotion and protection of constitutional democratic governance on the continent.

Both leaders were reported to have vehemently stressed that democratic government remain a top priority throughout the whole debate.

Daily post report that, Ngelale informed the media that President Bola Tinubu and Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada, had a lengthy and in-depth conversation about the crisis in the Niger Republic and the developing situation in Gabon.

The promotion and protection of constitutional democratic governance on the continent remain a top priority, according to the two heads of state, and Africans living abroad, who have a significant influence on the sociopolitical environments and economies of other nations, continue to call on the international community to advance the cause of democracy on the continent for the benefit of the economy of all Africans.

Therefore, it is crucial to comprehend that His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will continue to meet with heads of state not just those of the African Union but also those from around the globe and that these meetings are still taking place.
