Coup: Canada prime minister held phone conversation with Tinubu over Gabon coup

According to news published by The Guardian paper, Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau held a telephone conversation with Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu about a possible way forward following the Military Coup in Gabon. Reports show that Gabon’s Military leaders overthrew Ali Bongo.

However, Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) in a tweet Post, narrated that President Bola Tinubu, who is the chairman of Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), and Trudeau held a phone conversation on Wednesday, they discussed about Posible action after Military Coup in Gabon.

According to the presidency, Bola Tinubu Nigeria’s president is working closely with other Heads of State in the African Union towards a comprehensive action on the next steps forward regarding the recent Military Coup in Gabon.

Therefore, Gabon’s military leaders announced on television that they had canceled the country’s presidential election and had seized power. Moreover, the recent coup in Gabon came as the country was rounding off voting in the general election that took place on August 26 general elections.
