In a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo (WithChude), Labour Party’s Presidential candidate, Peter Obi has disclosed why he can’t leave the important and bigger problems Nigerians are facing just to stop corruption and recover looted funds in Nigeria.
He made this known while replying to the host request for him to become a president and fight the corruption and looting of funds we’re battling with in the country.
Replying to why he can’t contest for a presidential election just to fight and recover looted funds, Peter Obi said “The money recoverd from Sani Abacha, in what way did it help our economy, you can’t close your shop and start chasing thieves, by the time you come back, you would have lost customers and the goods expired. So you have to deal with a bigger problem. You can fix structures that will help reduce criminality which I have said on the issue of corruption”.
