Senators in rowdy session over Keyamo’s screening

During the continuing screening of Bola Tinubu’s ministerial list at the 10th National Assembly, senators rejected All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and Senior Advocate Festus Keyamo for a position in the President’s federal cabinet, forcing the Senate to adjourn.

As a result of Mr. Keyamo’s refusal to show up in front of the Senate and House of Representatives while serving as Minister of State for Labour and Employment under the recently-expired Muhammadu Buhari administration, the majority of lawmakers in the National Assembly’s Red Chamber decided to adjourn the Red Chamber on Monday, August 7.

They assert that despite receiving multiple invitations to speak on various issues pertaining to his ministry at the time, the APC head consistently turned down the offers.

Additionally, it was reported that the senators immediately met behind closed doors after the majority demanded that Keyamo not be confirmed for a ministerial position in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s cabinet.
