The former Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Senator Shehu Sani, has indirectly taken a swipe at the immediate past Governor of his State, Nasir El-Rufai; as he warned that the man who publicly gloated that he sent late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua to his grave should not be trusted by another President.
Shehu Sani had written, “The man who publicly boasted and gloated that he fought President Yar’Adua and sent him to his grave, shouldn’t be trusted by any President now or in the future.”
Senator Shehu Sani indirectly called El-Rufai out on his Twitter handle today. He indirectly insinuated that the former Kaduna governor should not be confirmed by the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. According to him, the man had publicly revealed how he fought and ensured that he sent late President Yar’adua to his grave, hence, no other President should trust him. Even though Shehu Sani did not mention El-Rufai, there were indications that he was referring to the delay in the confirmation of the former Kaduna governor as a Minister.
Reports had earlier revealed how the Senate failed to confirm El-Rufai and two other Ministerial nominees. The Upper Chamber of the National Assembly had transmitted the names of confirmed Ministerial nominees to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, but left out El-Rufai and two others; as it said this was done because of security reasons.
