Tinubu closely observing situation in Gabon – Ngalale

President Bola Tinubu vehemently denounced the military seizure of power in Gabon on Wednesday, expressing his profound concern about the political turmoil and socio-political stability engulfing the country.

According to Punch, his reaction came shortly after a faction of Gabonese military officials announced on national television their intention to dismantle the current regime and nullify the election results that declared President Ali Bongo Ondimba as the winner.

In a statement conveyed by his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, he emphasized the utmost importance of upholding the rule of law and resolving electoral disputes through constitutional means, advocating for the preservation of these values across Africa.

Ngelale said, “Tinubu closely monitors the situation in Gabon, fearing the detrimental effects of autocracy on the continent.

He’s actively engaging with other African leaders in the African Union to reach a collective resolution for handling the crisis in Gabon and addressing the concerning proliferation of autocratic regimes throughout Africa.”
