According to Vanguard, the victim, who was taken to Afikpo Medical Centre three days after the incident, confessed to having been coerced into taking the poison by Iroh Chidiebere Bright, a senior at SS 2 and the house captain.
” He forbade me from disclosing to anyone, including my parents at home or other school personnel, ” said the victim.
School Principal Informed Victim’ s Father Of The Incident
The victim’ s father, Mr. Emmanuel Onwe, who serves as the ministry of works and transportation’ s public relations officer, described his trauma and said it was agonizing for him throughout.
” The Principal called me on Friday, May 20, 2022, and informed me that my kid had been admitted to the hospital. I asked him what had occurred angrily, and he replied that my son had been given poisoned garri by an older student, which had caused him to become ill.
