Mr Jibrin Okutepa, SAN, who is a lawyer to the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, has reacted to a viral where former President Goodluck Jonathan was seen telling politicians to do things based on rule of law.
While reacting, Mr Okutepa made it known that the admonition of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan couldn’t have been more timely, noting that his statement is pure and undiluted. Mr Okutepa went on and noted that Nigerians want true rule of law and that Nigerians are also tired of those pontificating about the rule of law but have no single regard for the rule of law in Nigeria.
Mr Jibrin Okutepa made this disclosure in a tweet he made on his twitter handle, thereby urging Nigerian politicians to listen to former President Jonathan if they really have ears.
He wrote: “The admonition of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan couldn’t have been more timely. It is pure and undiluted. Nigerians want true rule of law. We are tired of those pontificating about the rule of law but have no regard for it in Nigeria. Those who have ears let them hear.”
Lately, Mr Okutepa has proven to be one man that wants Nigeria to work. He had on several occasions in the past criticised most of the corrupt Nigerian politicians who have continued to disobey the rule of law by doing what they want do. With more people like Okutepa in our legal system, Nigeria will be a better nation.
