The Former Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, has voiced concerns about the potential consequences of suspending or expelling Nyesom Wike from the PDP. During an interview with Channels TV news, Fayose emphasized that Wike, the former Rivers State governor, holds significant influence within the party that cannot be underestimated. He further contended that the party’s recent struggles, such as the inability to pay salaries in recent months, can be attributed to internal discord. According to Fayose, Wike and other disgruntled members had taken it upon themselves to prioritize salary payments.

Fayose firmly stated, “Some individuals suggest suspending or removing Wike, but they would be doing so at their own peril. In any family, even amidst disagreements, the first step isn’t to drive a spouse away. Wike is an indispensable force within the PDP, and disregarding or dismissing him would be a risky move. He possesses significant capabilities.”

In his view, Ayodele Fayose believes that the PDP needs a comprehensive overhaul, and he commended the acting National Chairman for their efforts. Based on his investigations, it appears that considerable efforts have been made to engage figures like Wike and himself. Fayose’s findings have also pointed to the party’s financial challenges, attributing them to the absence of support from individuals like Wike and others who previously assumed certain responsibilities.
