The Proposed Ministerial List Is Breach Of Fed. Character, No State Should Have 3 Ministers– Okonkwo

Veteran Nollywood Actor and Labour Party Chieftain, Mr. Kenneth Okonkwo, raised concerns about the proposed ministerial list before the Senate, claiming that it violates the federal character commission act. He pointed out that no state should have more than three Ministers when some states in the country have not even received two Ministers. In addition, he emphasized that no geopolitical zone should have more Ministers than any other zone.

Mr. Okonkwo expressed his views on Twitter, urging the Senators to familiarize themselves with the laws they create to ensure peace, order, and good governance in Nigeria. He further criticized the APC-led Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, labeling it as the most tribalistic and nepotistic regime globally. He believed that this administration has strayed far from the principles of democracy and the rule of law.

It should be recalled that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently submitted his ministerial list to the Senate for confirmation. However, it was noted that some states have two or more ministerial nominees, while others have only one. This discrepancy has prompted calls from some Nigerians for the President to address the issue and uphold the federal character principle, which is essential for maintaining peace and unity in the country.
