Sit-At-Home: We Lose Over N10 billion Every Monday – Peter Mbah

The South East region of Nigeria has experienced a series of sit-at-home orders in recent times, resulting in significant disruptions to daily life, economic activities, and social interactions. These orders have been primarily driven by IPOB, which have led to increased uncertainties and concerns among the populace. The governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah has revelead that the sit at home which is enforced by a faction of the Indigenous People of Biafra is causing tbe State government to lose over N10 billion naira every Monday.

According to Channels TV, Peter Mbah made this known on Thursday in Enugu at a meeting with President-Generals of all the autonomous communities in Enugu State.

“It’s important to understand the connection between sit-at-home and poverty. Each day we sit at home, we lose over N10 billion from the economic activities tht ought to have happened here in our State.” the governor said while addressing the PGs.

The closure of businesses and restriction of movement have led to severe financial losses for entrepreneurs, traders, and workers. Many small-scale enterprises have been forced to shut down, leading to unemployment and reduced income for individuals and families. The overall economic growth of the state has been hampered, making it increasingly challenging for residents to sustain their livelihoods.
