Sit-at-home Orders: Declare State Of Emergency In Southeast – Ohanaeze To Tinubu

Ohanaeze Ndigbo, a prominent Igbo socio-cultural group, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to declare a state of emergency in response to the sit-at-home order issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in the Southeast region of Nigeria. Ohanaeze believes that such a declaration would compel the Southeast governors to find a lasting solution to the order. The sit-at-home orders, declared by IPOB member Simon Ekpa, have led to an escalation of the crisis in the region and an attempt to disrupt economic activities.

Ohanaeze’s Secretary-General, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, emphasized that the organization will not tolerate the destruction of economic activities in the Southeast by miscreants. Isiguzoro suggested that declaring a state of emergency in the affected areas would be a decisive action, similar to what President Tinubu would do, prompting the Southeast governors to address the problem seriously. Isiguzoro also criticized Ekpa’s actions, describing them as an attempt to divide the Igbo people, and expressed concern over the lack of response from figures like Peter Obi, raising the possibility of a conspiracy against the president.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to declare a state of emergency in response to the sit-at-home order issued by IPOB in the Southeast. The organization seeks to prevent the disruption of economic activities in the region and calls on the Southeast governors to find a solution to the problem. Ohanaeze also expresses concerns about Ekpa’s actions and questions the silence of certain political figures, suggesting a potential conspiracy against the president.
