Simon Ekpa Is Working Against Nnamdi Kanu’s Release- Igbo leaders

The Igbo leaders have revealed that Simon Ekpa, a Finland based Nigerian, is working against the release of Nnamdi Kanu by imposing a sit-at-home order in Southeast. The leaders also urged the Federal Government to initiate the extradition process for Mr. Simon Ekpa, who is alleged to be responsible for killings and property destruction in the South-East

According to individuals who spoke to Sunday Vanguard, they characterized Ekpa’s continuous imposition of sit-at-home orders as contradictory to Kanu’s principles and as an effort to overshadow the incarcerated IPOB leader.

The Igbo leaders perceive the act of enforcing people to stay at home as hindering Kanu’s release and as a deliberate attempt to overshadow the detained IPOB leader.

Speaking with Vanguard paper, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, the first civilian governor of Anambra State, said “If the Federal Government had no tolerance for the killings and insecurity in the South-East, they would have taken decisive action to address Ekpa’s alleged activities and those of his followers.

“If the government genuinely desires to halt the insecurity in the South-East, they have the capacity and resources to do so effectively”- he added
