Recently, it was reported that dignitaries gathered in Port Harcourt on Sunday to honour the immediate past governor of Rivers State, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike.
It was said that the event was hosted by the incumbent Rivers State Governor, Mr Siminalayi Fibara, who served under the administration of Nyesom Wike.

According to Wike, he noted that in 2019, he was poisoned in their campaign secretariat and all his intestine became black, adding that he was taken out of the country to Beirut for medical treatment, and the doctors conducted series of tests to know what was actually wrong with him.
Speaking further, Wike noted that the doctor got back to him the following day to inform him that his intestines and kidneys were not functioning properly, adding that his wife then called Okewari and told him what is going on.
According to Wike, he said, “After that banquet, at midnight, I was taking out of the country because I thought it was over. When we got to Beirut, the doctors were looking at me, and they said, “Look, we have to do so many tests”. They came back the next day and said it was bad. My kidney had gone, my liver had gone. It was my wife who told Okewari. He now called and said, “what is going on?”. I said, what did you hear? He said that the way my wife spoke to him, I said everything was okay. Of course, the present governor of Rivers State also knows. I never knew that I had been poisoned in our campaign secretariat. So, the doctors did everything they could, and the next day, they came back and said what is happening to me is that everything is turning around. I asked how? And they said my liver and kidney is functioning now”.
