Shehu Sani Reacts To Tinubu Request For Military Action On Niger Republic

According to Daily Post, former federal lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, has urged the Nigerian senate not to approve the request of the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for military action against the Republic of Niger.

Recall that the President had earlier sent a request to the Senate seeking approval for military action and other sanctions against the military junta in Niger.

Reacting in a post his official Twitter page, the former Kaduna State senator advised the Nigerian leader not to allow himself to be misled by foreign powers.

Advising the President to continue exploring diplomatic channels and save the life of those who will be sacrificed, the former senator said Saudi in Yemen, America in Afghanistan, and now Russia in Ukraine should teach us a lesson that war does not end in days, weeks, or months.

He wrote, “The Nigerian Senate should NOT approve any military action against Niger Republic. This country should not be plunged into war and eventually stuck in war in the Sahel.
