Senate Adjourns Screening As Lawmakers Kick Against Screening Of Festus Keyamo For Ministerial Position

Amid the ongoing screening of Bola Tinubu ministerial list at the 10th National Assembly, the Senate has been forced to adjourn sitting after lawmakers rejected All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, and Senior Advocate, Festus Keyamo for a position in the President’s federal cabinet.

According to a report posted by ARISE NEWS on its verified Twitter handle, sitting was adjourned on Monday, August 7, after most of the lawmakers in the Red Chamber of the National Assembly refused to screen Mr Keyamo over his refusal to appear before the Senate and House Of Reps while serving as Minister of State for Labour and Employment under the immediate past Muhammadu Buhari administration.

According to them, the APC chieftain was summoned on several occasions over several issues pertaining to his ministry at the time but repeatedly refused to honor the invitation.

It was also gathered that the lawmakers immediately went into a closed-door meeting after most of the Senators insisted that Keyamo should not be confirmed for a ministerial position in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s cabinet.
