Former Militant leader, Asari Dokubo has boasted of having the manpower to defeat military junta in Niger Republic.

Dokubo said he and his boys can overrun Niger Republic if commissioned by the Federal government.

In a viral video, Dokubo said he and his boys can restore democracy in Niger Republic.

According to him: ‘’If the government commissions me and my people to go to Niger Republic, we will go. We will defeat them and we will come back victorious. It is not a boast.

The Niger military junta that seized power has announced a list of 21 people that it said will become ministers in a new government.

This announcement was made overnight.

It comes as West African heads of state are set to hold a summit on Thursday to reach an agreement on the next line of action regarding the recent coup in Niger.

Chairperson of the Economic Community of West African State (ECOWAS), President Bola Tinubu, says it is crucial to prioritise diplomatic negotiations to resolve the crisis in Niger Republic.

According to the Nigerian President, the regional bloc must engage the coup leaders in the neighbouring country to reinstate President Mohamed Bazoum.

Tinubu spoke on Thursday in Abuja when he declared opened ECOWAS second extraordinary session on the situation in Niger Republic.

He said, “More so, in reaffirming our relentless commitment to democracy, human rights, and the well-being of the people of Niger, it is crucial that we prioritise diplomatic negotiations and dialogue as the bedrock of our approach.

Fuel Price Will Increase As Naira Value Depreciates, Says Nigerian Association Of Independent Petroleum Marketers, IPMAN

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has said there will be a progressive increase in the pump price of fuel in the country.

Speaking with SaharaReporters on the phone on Thursday, the National President of IPMAN, Chinedu Okoronkwo, said since the removal of subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit, also known as petrol by President Bola Tinubu-led Nigerian government, fuel pump price is no longer determined by the government but by the market forces and dollar to naira exchange rate.

Regarding speculations that the pump price of petrol could rise to N1,000 by December, the IPMAN boss said he cannot authenticate the exact amount the fuel price will get to.
