Tinubu, Elumelu Meet In Aso Rock

President Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday, met behind closed doors with the Chairman of HEIRS Holdings and Transcorp PLC, Mr Tony Elumelu, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

This is as the President has received more commendations from the private sector, for his policy decisions on the country’s economy since he assumed office.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Mr. Elumelu, delivered the private sector’s commendation to the President.

He acknowledged that the President had made good decisions in the interest of the country, saying the private sector had been encouraged by the steps taken so far.

He contended that everything done by Tinubu so far had been in the interest of all Nigerians, especially women and the youths, assuring that in the long run, Nigeria will benefit from it all, imploring citizens to be patient with the President.

Abure: Labour Party Refers Lawyer To Disciplinary Committee

The Labour Party led by Julius Abure faction has referred a legal practitioner, Monday Mawah to the chairman, Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee for allegedly saying that the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has declared Lamidi Apapa as the national chairman of the party.

The Labour Party, in a petition addressed to chairman of the committee, accused the lawyer of making the statement on national television following the ruling of the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja last week.

The party also accused the lawyer of claiming that the court ordered that the names of candidates that emerged as winners in the purported primary election conducted by the Lamidi Apapa-faction be forwarded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to be imputed as the candidates of the Labour Party for the 2023 gubernatorial elections fixed for later in the year.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of a new Board and Management team of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

This is contained in a statement issued by Presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, on Tuesday night.

According to the statement, the new team comprises:

Mr. Chiedu Ebie – Chairman – Delta

Dr. Samuel Ogbuku – Managing Director / CEO – Bayelsa

Mr. Boma Iyaye – Executive Director (Finance and Admin) – Rivers

Mr. Victor Antai – Executive Director (Projects) – Akwa-Ibom

Ifedayo Abegunde – Executive Director (Corporate Services) – Ondo

Controversy trails Peter Obi’s alleged monetary gift to Rufai Oseni

Controversy has continued to trail the report that the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Mr Peter Obi allegedly funded the funeral of the late father of Arise TV’s journalist, Mr Rufai Oseni.

A former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, had asked the former Anambra governor to come clean on whether or not he gave monies to Mr Rufai Oseni during the letter’s father’s funeral, a move Reno said has influenced the journalist into making political comments and analysis in favour of Obi

Pastor Omokri, in one of the tweets, called on Mr Obi to publicly deny ever-inducing Mr Oseni financially.

He asked Obi if he had sponsored Oseni’s late father’s funeral or not.

“I asked a question that Mr. Peter Obi has NOT answered and has tried to use semantics to dodge.
