Reactions Trail The Tweet Keyamo Made After President Tinubu Nominated Him As Minister

Former Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, has sparked reactions online with the tweet he made after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu nominated him as minister.

Festus Keyamo’s name was announced during the plenary session on Friday August 4, 2023, when the Senate President Godswill Akpabio read the letter that President Bola Tinubu sent to the Senate.

According to the report by Sahara Reporters, Maryam Shetty from Kano State was removed from the list and replaced with Dr Maigari Mahmud. Although the reason for the removal of Maryam Shetty’s name from the list was not stated, but her nomination had elicited a lot of public opinion when her name was included in the second ministerial list.

Following the report, Keyamo took to his verified Twitter handle to thank God for the addition of his name to the list.

He tweeted – “He’s a miracle-working God. He’s a miracle-working God. He’s the Alpha and Omega, He’s the miracle-working God.”

The tweet from Keyamo has been generating mixed reactions from members of the public. While his supporters and well-wishers have taken to the comments section to congratulate him, in the same vein, members of the opposition have been sharing differing views.

Below are some of the reactions from people:

Keyamo became a target of social media trolls when his name was not included in Tinubu’s first and second list which was sent to the Senate. Some people speculated that he had been left out of Tinubu’s cabinet after all the efforts he made during President Tinubu’s campaign.

It should be recalled that Keyamo was the spokesman for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council.
