Reactions trail after Wike and Mariya Mahmud embarked on road inspection

The Honourable Minister of State for the FCT, Mariya Mahmud, and Minister Wike Nyesom conducted a site inspection visit to assess the progress of the Usuma Water Supply Project located on Gurara Road, as well as other initiatives initiated by the FCTA. Minister Wike shared this update on his official Facebook page just a few hours ago.

In his post, Minister Wike pointed out a significant challenge faced by the FCTA in the past, which was the proliferation of abandoned projects. He attributed this unfortunate situation to the dispersion of available finances, which had hindered the completion of various initiatives and projects.

To address this issue, Minister Wike revealed that comprehensive plans have been set in motion to revamp engineering services and tackle the systemic problems that allowed the practice of leaving projects incomplete. These plans include a strategic allocation of financial resources, focusing efforts on completing projects in specific batches, and securing funding through Irrevocable Standing Payment Orders (ISPOs) for identified projects.

The Minister’s commitment to addressing this issue has garnered praise from many netizens who have applauded his continuous service. Some individuals have taken the opportunity to suggest locations in need of development and attention, indicating an active and engaged online community interested in the progress of the FCTA’s initiatives.
