'The Niger Junta Created The Problem By Disrespecting The Delegation Sent By Tinubu' – Joe Keshi

A Former Ambassador to the US, Joe Keshi has alleged that the Niger Junta created a big problem for themselves by disrespecting the delegation sent by President Bola Tinubu to Niger. He said in an interview with Arise Tv news that the Niger Junta lost their key opportunity to explain their problems to the ECOWAS Chairman. According to him, the approach to Niger Coup by ECOWAS was different because of the way the Coup leaders handled the crisis. 

He said, ”This is not the first coup in the last four years. And I think what Niger is trying to say is that ECOWAS is treating us differently from how they treated the Coup leaders in Guinea, Burkina Faso, Mali, and Chad. And so we need to have a common behavior when these things happen. But they also created the problem by disrespecting delegation sent by the Nigeria leader, President Bola Tinubu. They lost the opportunity of explaining themselves, he should have met General Abubakar Abdulsalami and explained what the problem was. So that General Abdulsalami can relay those problems to President Tinubu.”
