In the wake of the devastating fire outbreak at the popular Powerline (Ariaria) Market in Aba, Abia State a couple of days ago, reactions have begun trailing a social media post put up by Labour Party presidential flag bearer, Peter Gregory Obi in which he called for an investigation into the unfortunate incident that has destroyed goods worth several millions of Naira.
In a series of tweets posted on his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday afternoon, Obi urged government agencies to carry out a thorough investigation into the outbreak to avoid future occurrences.
Sympathizing with trades who lost all their goods to the raging inferno, the former Anambra governor urged the Abia State government and other well-meaning Nigerians to help the victims recoup their losses in any way possible.

As expected, Obi’s remarks have drawn a mixture of reactions from a cross-section of Nigerians online, with many trooping to the comments section to share their thoughts.
While some people joined him in calling for an investigation into the cause of the fire incident, others, however, commiserated with the victims who lost their livelihood to the inferno.
