Presidential Election Tribunal: Ohanaeze Warned That Nigerians Might Witness The Niger Coup Situation If Judges Issued The Wrong Judgment

As Nigerians expect the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to make its ruling, the Ohanaeze sociocultural organization has cautioned the judges against issuing an erroneous judgment.

Ohanaeze forewarned that if the judges render a wrong decision, Nigerians would be forced to witness a military coup similar to the one that occurred in the Niger Republic.

The Nigerian general elections in 2023 are being tainted by claims of anomalies and a disregard for electoral regulations, and the organization has advised the judiciary to be impartial in its judgment.

Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the group’s factional secretary-general, stated that the failure to follow the electronic transfer of election results from polling places to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) central system, known as IREV, further fanned these worries.

Isiguzoro made the following comment in a statement: “As Nigerians eagerly await the decision of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT), their expectations are high for an impartial and uncompromised judgment.”
